8161, 53lb Striper??

I read some reports not too long ago Jerry caught a huge striper out of Willow Beach but there is of course some doubts about the catch. Anyone seen the pic of it??It's hard to believe anyone would catch such a fish and get no pics, maybe Jerry or one of his friends could post it here for everyone to see and to clear the air.

I'm not trying to start a problem with this post, I believe Jerry and would just like to see this big fish. I understand it was caught and released which I applaud him for doing, it's not done enough with the trophy fish anymore.

Let's see the beast, please don't start a bashing war..thanks!

It's about time someone released a trophy striper, and especially from lake mojave. A giant fish like that should never have to die just to get a few photos of a the fish and the plug that caught it? Promotion by death needs to end.

And if your going to eat one, than eat one thats not twenty years old!! Eat a little ten ponder!!!

Mad props to the guy who released a monster like that, and I hope he caught it on a Rago Raptor, or Tool.

Catch Photo Release, Peace.....................Gio

The 53lb picture is being saved for a upcoming article, sorry. It was caught and released by Jerry. Here are some pics of some fish we caught during the ICAST show in Vegas. The largest fish bottomed out, the 30lb. Boga grip with ease. All but a 29 and 24 were released. we worked on them for a long time and even released them and followed them down the river but they did not make it. 59 degree water and 118 air temp. maybe. The stripers were caught on the 8" Baby Tool, 10" Raptor and Soft Tool. on Maxima Flourocarbon and some new Maxima prototype line and of course my Conway Custom Rods.

We were using 25 and 30lb. Maxima Flourocarbon and some prototype Maxima 30lb. mono that I was testing. I have been really impressed with the two types of prototype mono line that Maxima is working on. The snaps I use are made by a Japanese company called DECOY. They make a few snaps that I use, the V snap and the EGG snap. The one I use on all my hard swimbaits is the EGG SNAP. DECOY makes them in size #3 that is 70lb, #4 - 90lb and #5 that is 120lb. The DECOY snaps have never failed or opened up on me and they are perfectly round on the bottom were they make contact with the eyescrew and do not hamper the action at all.
