I am debating on a 3:16 baby bass lure. I mainly fish stained water with approx. 2' clarity. Would a baby bass be a waste of money? It sounds like it is used for a lot of dead sticking.

I need some opinions, would my money be better spent on a couple of Slammers?

I have caught plenty of bass in stained water by swimming the bait sub-surface, waking it on the surface and dead sticking. The bait is solid and I think its worth the $$. The Slammer is a great bait also. Either way you will be happy

How about for size of fish? Would it turn the head of a 10 lb. bass like a 9" Slammer would?

I have hooked one to date and lost it. I'm sure a 10+ would eat it at the right place and right time.

Sorry for lagging on a reply I was out of the country fishing El Salto :)

NOT A ONE 3:16 hard bait is a waist of money. They are all worth it.
Best of luck what ever you get.

Ive been fishing the slammer for many years and love the bait. Ive been fishing the wake bait jr since late April and have been having a blast on it. Ive gotten one fish over ten on the 9" slammer. Since fishing the wake jr Ive gotten a handful over 7 including an 11-0 and an 8-14 on the same outing.

If I was targeting trophy bass instead of quality bass, I likely would use at least a 9" slammer. However, its been proven to me in very short order that the wake jr will produce not only quality but also trophy fish.

So the point is that both baits produce both quality and trophy. If you can afford both, you should get both. If you can only afford one, its a coin toss. But right now I would personally buy the wake jr.
