Agreed on all points. When I shore fish alone I hold the fish in the water with one hand, while setting up my camera with the other. It does suck and I'm sure putting the fish in a basket for 5 minutes would do no harm. But much longer than that... not as much. Fish seem to beat themselves up in those, big ones more so than others.
