Because, as I've said before, a 10-gallon, above-board bucket puts me over the weight limit on my kickboat. I prefer not to sacrifice my own safety for some supposed advantage for the fish (of which I've lost maybe 2 or 3 over the past 10+ years with my hanging mesh cage).
