I was thinking about the Hitting the Delta Sunday. Actually, I want to explore new Delta waters so I'm game for almost anywhere. I was considering Middle River, launch at the Tracy Blvd. bridge and fish up river from there. Let me know what your planning.

There's not much to fish up that way Mitch. I will give ya some info on places I have fished but you might not have. Dead Hourse Slough can be cool. 7 mile slough as well, go past brannon island and you will run along a slough on your left that might be full of hiacyns(sp) and not fishable. If you follow the road you will go over the levee and to your right the slough will be fishable lots of docks and weeds. You can also hit up sandmound slough its all a 5mph zone get in around Franks Landing.

I'm not going to waste my time up there then. I will give the spots you mentioned a try.

Some Striper action would be fun. As far as where to go, I will have to follow you to the Stripers. I don't really know my way around the Delta very good. I've actually only fished whites and M.R. Any place is OK with me as long as I can catch a fish. If there isn't any Stripers running then one of the places John suggested might be promising. Also, there is lower Empire Tract, the location of the next D.R. tourney. H*ll, I don't know, somebody help me!

Oh no!we'll figure out where to go.As for stripers the port should have some in there(luis park where we did the delta region out of)I think castro would know better than me.I'm easy, the pace for the next regional kinda makes sencse too.I'm not sure where to launch out of for sandmound and I've been to 7 mile once a long time ago.Josh always has some good ideas too.Let me talk too joey and see how the stripers are doing.
Talk with ya later,swampius undecidus

So where is lower empire?Have you heard anything on the stripers?I'd say if the stripers are in that would be fun but if not lets go to empire.

Wish I could tag along but I'm trying out the new RV this weekend. Got to make sure I'll be 'stylin' when we do the Feather.

Just called Sammy in Stockton he said
the Stripers have not moved into the port yet.
By the end of September they should be running.

Lower Empire Cut is near Whiskey Slough off of Holt Rd.
I don't have my map on me right now for details.

Steve it's alright - look forward in hooking up
with you next week. :)
I'm so excited...

You know you could get in at Franks Landing next to sanmound and fish for LM in franks, sandmound as well as throw some traps for stripers in franks. Best of both worlds

IFISH say's,

yo' castro, where is Lower Empire at ?? is it near where we went for our last B-N-T Tourney ?? I'm thinkin i might be able to get out with ya'll, but it's still floatin in the air right now. i'd just like to know the where abouts before i decide. any info is appreciated. by the way, did i weigh in the least amount of weight in a B-N-T tourney ? at least then i'd have a record for the lightest " BAG ". har har

Actually your not even closest to the smallest bag weighed in during a BNT tournie. During the first year T.C weighed in a dead short fish his total weight for the day was -.75lbs

I still don't have my Map-N-Fish in front of me to give you detail information. I got this off of MapQuest.com

As you drive in Whiskey Slough should be to the right of you.

This must be a old map.
They don't show Mildred Island under water?

As we get closer to the T date I'll update us on the map details.

Here it goes..... Hope this works

So, how did you guys do after I left, any pigs? Did you stay until the tide changed again? -Mitch-
10305, RE: Dave, Joey???

Dave and I caught a lot of fish. I caught most on Senkos and Texas rigging 4-6 inch weenies. My best fish fooled by cranking a Fat Free Shad. I could not get a fish to go over 2 ½ pounds ~ lots of dinks.

Dave and I got out just before the change of the tide.

Over all had a fun day with all these small Rod Benders.
Need to pre-fish another time to try to
figurer how to pick up the bigger fish.

Heard Josh caught a dozen or more of
his fish on Buzz and spinner baits.

How did you do over all?
How did Joe Rivera do?

Did you see the floating Hooter Hotdog houseboat?
They have a menu of just hotdogs and sodas.
I tried their Polish Dog and it hit the spot of goodness.
Very Cool People
they own the small island on the bottom left under Mildred Island.
They said they’d be open the day of the Tourney.

My story is pretty much the same as yours, except for the "lot of fish" part. I ended up with probably 8 or 10 total with only half being keepers. Caught most on a Texas rigged 6" worm, a couple on Senkos and that's it. I think my biggest was somewhere around 2#.

Joe Rivera had about the same kind of success. A lot of small fish.

The tourney should be fun. I know someone will figure out how to make the big girls bite.

Yea, I saw Hooters Doghouse, I think an ice cold drink should hit the spot near weigh in time.
