13478, Delta 3-2
Posted by Mike F, Mon Mar-03-03 02:48 PM
I fished the Delta all day Sunday. The bite was slow to say the least. I launched at Sugar Slough at 6:45am and caught my first fish (3lbs.)around 9:00am (blue and chartreuse spinnerbait). It was right on a rocky bank.

I left that area around 10:30am and went to Middle River. I launched at the bridge (low tide) and fished with the current toward the rock barrier. The first fish (2lbs.) came right off the bat at the first rocky bank near the bridge (blue and chartreuse spinnerbait). I fished the blade, jigs, crankbaits, senkos, & worms to no avail and at about 3:30pm started floating with the incoming tide back towards the bridge. I used the blade all the way back and caught my third and final fish of the day (2lbs.) along the rocky bank by the bridge at 5:45pm.

It was a long day, but very nice to be out on the Delta. The bite should pick up any day now. I'll make sure an be there when it does!
