Do any of you guys who have superfree spools put tape over the wiffle holes?I read that water can get inside these holes and cause damage to the reel. You would think for the money we payed for these reels that this isn`t true, but if it is true and the wiffles have tape(teflon tape is recommended btw)on them wouldn`t that defeat the purpose of having a superfree spool?Anybody else have any info on this?thx Bill

I take mine apart every winter for maintenance & never noticed a problem.

I will trade you a nice Quantum Energy baitcaster for that 'ole Curado Superfree of yours.

Toss in a couple of panther martins in the bumble bee patern and it`s yours. While cleaning it did you notice if anything is getting through the wiffles?

Ive never had a problem. If your worried, just leave all those reels at home on Saturday. I've got a zebco 202 you can borrow.

No, I've never noticed any accumulation of water or rust or anything else. Maybe if the water does get thru the line & thru those holes, it's able to leak back out over time after you're done fishing.

cool, they were talking about it on anglerworld.com.I wasn`t sure if I should take it seriously because the guy that said this does reel repairs and I hadn`t heard this before.I was thinking as long as your not emersing your reel in the lake constantly these reels should hold up just fine but than again what do I know.
