I was sitting here thinking to myself when I accidentally hooked my dog who was to close to me when I was casting. I was 11 and was kinda shorter then. I was @ a lake called Lake Wolfard(I think that was the name) in Southern Ca. I was fishing for trout usin some kinda rooster tail on hooked her in the ear. I would hav to say that was my weirdest. I have hooked alot of frogs using a top water frog too. Whats your?

I caught a frog on a frog once. I guess that's not too weird after all. It sure suprised me when it happened though.

I accidentally hooked a neighbor's cat once, when I was in the yard practicing my flipping. I saw it looking at the jig, but I thought I'd be able to jerk the bait away if it got too close, but wouldn't you know, the sucker took a swipe at it & caught the hook -- RRReeeYYOOOOOWWWW!!! I had 20-lb Fireline on it, so I thought I'd end up having to reel the thing in, but it ended up snapping the line. I never did find the jig (although there were rubber strands laying around all over the place!), but I saw the cat a couple days later out in the back yard, with no fishing tackle attached to its paws -- whew!

(Oh, and as for the 'frogs on frogs,' I've caught two so far myself)

I have caught myself (twice), my cat, my partner in a draw tournement, an osprey (tried to eat my castaic trout), had an otter hit my buzzbait, but the wierdest thing that I caught was a trout that an bird had caught up at Del Valle. I think it was an osprey, but I do not remember, all I know is me and my brother were getting skunked and this bird swoops down and gets a fish, looses its grip and drops it two feet from me. It was still alive so I put it on a stringer took it home for my mother for dinner (only fish we even came close to all day)

Not sure if you know the Coast Guard pond in Two Rock but was fishing with a buddy there many moons ago and a duck ate my mini jig. Flew all over the place (and put up a GREAT fight on my light tackle! :-) ) before we were able to reel it in and release it. That was actually my second duck but first that actually ate my lure.

Also had an Ospery swoop down and grab my AC Plug and wouldn't let go! Finally after struggling with it (as it was about 50 ft up), the bird finally dropped my lure back.

Last Summer I was @ sonoma I gut hooked a dink, when i cut the line I saw it bleeding kinda bad so i put him back in the water. I floated like 75 ft away from it saw he surfaced and the a osprey dove in a snatched him up. That isnt weird but it sure was a cool sight to see. So i guess that wasnt a bad thing that I killed him. Osprey got a good meal.

Lets see; boat docks, boats,Pelicans, when I was real little, I hooked a guy in the waders. I have several times pulled hard on a stuck lure and had it shoot out of the water and hook my hat and take it about 20ft behind me. I don't do this anymore as I have heard of guys loosing eyes that way.

Quite a few years ago you were able to bring aluminum boats out on fountain grove.So a friend of mine Damon(about 6ft 4in and 260 pounds and used to do arm wrestling competitions) talked me in to going out with him and his buddy on there 12 ft boat.Needless to say it was crowded but we seemed to be doing o.k in dealing with it,so Damon pulls out one of his special non-filtered cigs after we catch quite a few fish and we take a break.Aftewr b.s ing for a while we start fishing again and I start throwing a spinnerbait and on my second cast i rear way back for the long distance cast and wing it and all of a sudden my lure hangs up behind me and big Damons hat goes flying in front of me and I hear a slight wimper.I cautiously look back thinking I hope he`s alright and hoping I`ll be alright for being a dumbass and I see my big old spinnerbait sticking in his forehead like a pincushion.He`s looking at me with a little tear welling up in his eye and white as a ghost asking me to please remove it from his forehead.So I pulled it off his fore head and a small little trickle of blood came out no serious damage to him or me(whew)and we grabbed his hat and went back to fishing.He got a float tube after that and kept his distance anytime we fished together.

I think Jeff Andress did that to Kevin. Maybe it was vice-versa. I don't remember.

I got fliped over in my kick boat whin a wave hit me in the ocean, not a great thing to do with your waters on, lost all gloomis rodsx(

I was at a lake that had filled so high that we were standing in ankle deep water, buddy of mine caught a small keeper trout and put it on a stringer an then stuck the stringer down in the mud to secure the trout....All of a sudden he was yelling at us to come over, because right under his feet a huge 10+ lber had just ate both the trout and stringer ....we caught another keeper trout, put it on a hook and let it swim out a few feet when the same big ass Bass went an ate that trout too! Wildest thing I have ever had happen fishing.....

OUCH!

In early summer in the 80's, my friend and I were walking down the shore-line of Lake Isabella w/ our tubes. This was a very wet year, so the lake had risen very high, and covered squirrel holes. I noticed a set of wiskers sticking out of a squirrel hole that was just off of the shore-line and only barely covered by water. I put a worm on the hook and put it in front of the wiskers. I caught nice sized catfish. Wondering if this was a freak thing, I started looking for squirrel holes in the water and found many. Almost every one had a catfish in it. A few weeks later we went back in to the same area to bass fish and the lake had come down a bit and the holes that were still covered had tons of baby catfish in them. Not necessarily a wierd catch, just a very weird way of doing the catching. By the way, the largest one that we caught was just a tad over 6lbs and we caught many, kept a few for dinner, released the rest to be mommy's.

I once hooked my dad in the armpit with 10/0 hook which still had a live mullet attached.....past the barb.....into muscle......a couple hours ride offshore in the Gulf. That was a, um, ,how would I say,,,,,uncomfortable ride to the ramp. For both of us. Hooked numerous seagulls growing up on the coast in TX. Sometimes they grab your bait and get stuck, sometimes they would just get temselves lassoed and tangled up in the line. I got an otter on a dink bass up on Fraser point at the Invitational this past October. Luckily he didn't get the hook. That was weird. I had blue heron try to eat my frog at Clear Lake last summer. He kept pulling, and I kept pulling trying to get it back. I don't know if he let it go, or if I actually pulled it back from him. They are stronger than they look!

But the best has to be small alligators on buzzbaits and frogs growing up in TX. Little ones would blow up repeatedly on a buzzbait or frog. Anything over 4 feet or so would not mess with the baits, but it was always cool watching those litte guys do their best to eat those things. We never did mangae to hook one though, even after hundreds of attempts over the years. They got a pretty tough mouth.

ha ha ha some funny stories for sure. here are a few of mine, the best one was my dad. he was fishinf by himself at poway. had 1 rod with a roostertail and 1 with bait. well as he was casting the lure it caught the bait and cause a short cast. which stuck the roostertail right in the top of his head. he had to go to the big H and get 3 stiches and the lure removed. as for myself birds,frogs,1 snake and the best one yet. i was night fishing at the river for big flathead. i had been casting over and over to the same spot and letting the bait drift. well i go to cast one more time and hear a big smack. not a water smack, all of a sudden i hear a guy screaming in the dark. scared the crap out of me. shine the flash light out in the water and see a guy buck naked standing in his boat and his girl is looking at his back. i had casted right in the boat and hooked him while they were getting down. he seemed pissed at first, but his girl could not stop laughing at him, so the mood lightend a bit and we both went are ways. i geuss that he learned to use a boat light after that.:o

Lets see here. Catching a bass on a bluegill fillet, having a huge bass try and eat the catfish I was reeling in, catching two bass at the same time on one broken back minnow, snagging a goose while flyfishing and the guy next to me yells "goose on!!" I was once fishing with a buddy and he was using a big swimbait, I guess he didn't notice that I was behind him when he went to cast and the end of the long rod handle smack me in the face so hard it knocked me out of the boat. A friend caught a bass using a toy squeeky frog and rubber snake at spring lake! Once had the same huge bass bend back my last wormhook 5 times in a row. Once while rock fishing at the ocean I set my rod down to take a leek and forgot to remove my bait and a seagull ate it a started flying away with my rod dragging across the rocks( I chased it down because it did not get far).
