Good to know that there is actually some good sized fish out there. Are they caught in the tules, and if so, how do u get ur bait back there? or do u throw it up against them?

Thanks,

flipping and pitching is the only thing i dont understand. especially in a float tube. When u want to get back there, how close to the tules do u get? Wat size weights do u use?

Thanks,

AS FAR AS PITCHING AND FLIPPING IT PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE IT TOOK ME A BIT TO GET USED TO DOING THIS ALSO OUT OF A FLOAT TUBE AND FOR THAT MATTER MY KICK BOAT .FLIP RIGHT INTO THE TULES DEPENDING ON HOW DENSE THEY ARE AS FAR AS WEIGHT THE THICKER THE MORE WEIGHT YOU WANT TO USE SO THAT YOUR BAIT WILL PENETRATE THE SURFACE I LIKE TO STAY ABOUT 4 FEET OR SO AWAY TO BE SURE NOT TO FRAK OUT ANY BASS BUT YOPU CAN GET RIGHT UP INTO THE TULES AND FLIP ALSO JUST A MATTER OF WHAT IS COMFE FOR YOU
FISH ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Start up front then move your way back untill you find them, you might find them in both areas who knows.Presentation is the key imho, although i`ve had agressive ones take my bait after its been splashed in the water if you quitely make your presentations you could make flips to the outside without spooking the ones on the inside if you need to go there to find fish. You just got to go out there and get some time on the water and develope your flipping technique now that you have a starting point. When you have that down, develope your pitching technique then you can present the lure quitely to the fish from farther back therefore covering more water and increase your chance on maybe catching a few you would have been sitting on while flipping. As far as weights and lures to use that all depends on what they want,a slow fall or a fast fall ,plastics or jigs. These are things that you have to experiment on when your on the water because it varies from day to day for the most part thats what makes bassfishing a challenge.Fountain grove is the perfect spot to practice all your bassfishing techniques on(especially frogging in the evening),theres all kinds of rocks ,tules ect ect.good luck

i think before i really can start this technique i need a new boat. Right now i have a float tube and im below the surfacex( It makes it soooo hard. Im getting a kickboat (ODC 816) in the next few weeks so i will start practicing then.

Thanks,

You can definitely flip from your tube - being lower in the water than in a kickboat doesn't make much difference. Pitching is a different story & is much easier if you're sitting higher out of the water. Good luck.
