It's over in my neighborhood in Middletown, about an hour from Santa Rosa on the way to Clear Lake. There are good fish in it, but this time of year with the real clear water and the bright sunlight you're almost forced to eiter fish frogs during the day on all the grass for size, or fish after dark. You can dropshot tons of small fish, but the bigger ones are buried up under the grass when the sun is out. The biggest I've gotten out of there has been around 8 lbs, but some years ago my WON Bass team partner caught an 18+ out of there. That's still some kind of line class record.

The lake is in a a gated neighborhood, but if anyone wants to make the drive out to fish it, just let me know ahead of time and I can add folks to the access roster to come in and fish.

That lake off Bennet Valley Rd is Matanzas Creek Res. I've never fished it, but I'm told it has some fish in it. Getting access may be dicey though. I think it's surrounded by private property. I also heard it silted in pretty bad and is now shallow and muddy, so I don't know what fishing is like in there these days.

I'm out to go toss the froggy.
