HOWDY FISHING GUYS...

I am preparing to purchase a transom mounted trolling motor for my 10ft. porta bote. Any suggestions for brand name and which battery should I buy to power it? Deep cranking or what?? No more than two people plus gear in the boat. How much thrust do I need??

Any informative input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.:7

a 36lb thrust 12V trolling motor will push that thing along just fine. A 48lb thrust will make that thing a lot faster. It all depends on what you want out of it. As far as batteries, use a deep cycle trolling motor battery, not a cranking battery, be sure when you get it you buy it from a place that knows the difference.

If you want to get up on plane you will need a 36V 109# thrust trolling motor + 3 deep cycle batteries :+
