At least the water looked scary! The boat ramp and Marmo's side of the lake were very green. Lots of floating algae, enough to "paint" your boat and legs. Temp was 65 on the Marmo side, 67 on the other side.

Anyway, Wade was not able to join me. I got on the water late around 11am. Fished until 3:40 (park now says to have boats off the water by 4). Picked up one fish on the shore under the power lines, Marmo side, on a Senko about 2.5#. Nothing by the irrigation pump or trees over there. Got a good bite in the trees across from Marmo's on a jig but it came unbuttoned before I got it out of the tree. Got one more on a Senko, across from Marmo's, about 3#.

Considering when I got out and the time on the water is was a pretty decent day. Sure beat house chores!

The water level is suprisingly low. I figured after the recent rains that it would have more in it. I'd say it is still down at least a couple of feet, maybe more.

Buzzfish,
Sorry I couldn't make it over the hill to fish with you. After I fruitlessly spent 1/2 the AM on the phone with the IRS :o because of my Ex x(, I finally went to Coyote about 11am. It's way down and dropping fast. It's dropped atleast 3 feet since Thursday. I kicked (because I forgot my oars x( ) straight across from the launch and got out. I walked up 2 dinks on the Drop-Shot and found a bunch of tackle :-) , including a mud caked spinning rod and reel :-) , and 6 jigs :D . After walking & fishing as far as I cared to in my waders, I got back into my kick and drifted towards the So. end with the strong winds. Throwing one of the jigs I found with a Double Wide Beaver for a trailer, I caught a 4.25# }( on the edge of some baseball sized gravel. http://www.calfishing.com/dc/user_files/2943.jpg
Then I got a 3.5# :D on a snag way out in the middle of the So. end.

I took some pictures of the exposed shoreline and called it a day just in time to kick back against an even stronger wind and get out at slightly after sundown. When I got out I found a #13 Davenport anchor, :D which is the exact size I had planned on getting for my aluminum boat.
Tight lines,
Wade

PS: Needless to say my day went from very bad (all accounts froven) to much better. Oh and I got my funds un-frozen this AM :D and after washing, disassembling, more cleaning, oiling and putting back together the spinning reel works passably well for a loner rod, except it needs a knob for the handle.

PSS: I have more pics, but can't get them small enough.

Edit: All Bass were released, along with some of the tackle I found by way of snagging it up too. I still walked away with over 20 peices of tackle. 8)

Hi Wade,

Glad things worked out OK for you; you sure sounded bummed out Sat night when you called. I'm sorry I couldn't be more flexible about where I was going but since I did not have someone to cover me for on call duty it was Pinto or Twin Lakes.

I am not sure if I can get out this coming weekend and the weekend after that is the TOC which I am helping with. I may be able to get out the weekend after that and probably one day Thanksgiveing weekend. We'll manage to hook up one of these days...
