29325, Fun day at the Pro-Teen

I just wanted to share with you guys the fun day I had on the water yesterday on the Delta. After Cooch talked at the BNT Delta Open I had asked him if he was still in need of boaters for the pro-teen event because I knew it was coming up and he said yes, so I signed up.

I got a great draw, I got to fish with Angelo Ambrosino, while talking to him the night before the tournament, he told me was the dropshot master, which was just great, cause I gave him a couple of packs of roboworms, in the money color you all know which one ;-) In the first 20 minutes of fishing he had a 3 and a 2.5 in the boat and the action just never stopped. He ended up catching quite a few fish which was really fun, it hurt though cause just like Mr. Wong(thanks for prefishing with me bro), he wouldn't go 20 minutes without reminding me was catching more than me :7 I was able to help us out though flipping a beaver for a fish that went a little over 4 and then one around 3. We ended up with a nice limit of just solid fish with no real kicker(14.23lbs) and finished in 5th. For our effort Angelo won a lamiglass rod and a curado and a few other cool things. The funniest thing that happend during the day was about 5 minutes after catching that first 3 pounder, I told him to look in the well to make sure everything was good to go, and there were feathers all over the place, that 3 pounder had made breakfast of a bird not to long before we got her in the boat :+

I dont know if you guys remember last year when one of the Alarid boys got to go and fish the teen tournament before the classic last year, but this year Angelo emerged as the winner from the Delta Teen club and was able to then qualify to be the representative for the state of california for the junior classic, hopefully his confidence is through the roof after catching all those fish and weighing in the most weight he has ever done in a tournament before he goes out there. This was a great event and just a whole lot of fun, I surely won't miss it next year.

IFISH say's,

Congrats CZ ! Good job mang ! Thanks for taking me out on saturday as I needed to get out. As CZ stated, I did remind a little bit about the good fish I caught, but who's mentioning it right ?:+ It was really kool because of the way I caught it. We came up on a point and there was some grass on it, and CZ said " Hey Nick, come up front dude and toss that bait around this area, I KNOW there's a fish here ! " So I did and within the first cast or two, I had my " Wong " cast going. For those who don't know what it is, a " Wong " cast is my version of a bird/ratsnest, jacked up cast.:+ I actually didn't pick them out cause they weren't that big and I kept on casting. After about 6-7 casts, I'm getting irratated by the ratsnest I have, so I think to myself, " After this cast I'm gonna fix it ", and as I get the bait within 5 feet of the boat, just about pull the bait out of the water, SPLOOSH !!! This fish murders that bait and it was on. First thing CZ did was go for the net. Ever see a 6'2" 220lb big boy scramble for a net ?? :+ :7 }( Anyway's, when all was said and done I put a 4lber in the boat. A squeeker fish to alot of you, a good fish to me. Was a good time and I was glad to help CZ eliminate water and catch fish. Because hey, If he can put ME on fish, he was sure to good the next day! :+ :+ :+
