Was pretty lucky and won the KZST Radio Staion's Five Years of their Annual Cruises last year. Heading to the Mexican Riveria Sunday :7

Paid a little extra and got a Mini Suite with Balcolny :-)

Anyways, if I am gonna get one fish a day I figured I would go big and booked this excursion:

"Experience the thrill of catching a Sailfish, Marlin or Tuna in Manzanillo, the Sailfish capital of the world.

On this excursion you will: Discover why Manzanillo is paradise for the avid sports fisherman. Enjoy the thrill and excitement of trolling-style deep sea fishing as you fish the waters where other fishermen have recorded amazing catches. Fish waters where many international tournaments are held annually. Note: All equipment, snacks, sodas, beer and water are included."

Biggest Salt Water I have done was some Yellow Tail out of Mission Bay (San Diego) to Mexican Waters. Boy those Yellow Tail kicked my %$&#*! Fun though, can't wait to hook a big one! }(

Unfortunatly it could be a six pack of tourist but I am camping on the back rail :D

Can't wait, now to see if I can get some time to do some of that little black bass fishy stuff Saturday before I leave.

Just had to share!

Sounds like a blast and I'll bet you hook up some good ones! Next time I run into you (probably the Open next year if I make it) I'd like to hear about your experience going south out of San Diego. My bro and Ihave been talkng about doing this fora long time and it would be good toget a frist hand report.

Mission Bay was a blast, cheap and good skipper. I think the boat was the San Diego! It was a quick story.

Working down there, nothing to do Sat or Sun so tried to get a boat. Nope on Sat but Sun did the San Diego. Last person to reel in for the day with a Zero was me, waited like the last jerk they have to tell to reel in and before they did I got a Calico Bass, nice one! Sure ugly.

Had the fever on Monday working, so Tuesday am I was leaving messages for my appointments canceling because of car problems He he and back onto the San Diego. But, I did mention to the skipper I had a great time Sunday but hoped I would do better (hint hint).

Well, he spotted me, asked me how my bait casting is, I said terrible, he asked if he was to cast for me the rest of the day would that work? I said hell yeah! So cast off the side and seconds later Yellow Tail on. Down the rail under and over 30 people and landed it. Then he did it again. Finally he came over and whispered, you got your two in the bag and most others don't have anything so you are on your own now.

Thank goodness, my arms were shaking, my shirt was drenched with sweat and all I could think of was a smoke and beer! Did not get anything else the rest of the day but got my limit. And let me tell you, those Yellow Tail will beat you up, it was just great.

In summary, go do it. I have also done a three day trip out of the San Diego Harbor (not the Mission Bay area) and that too was a blast. Just be sure you don't get sea sick. Three day sick on the ocean sucks!

Have fun John. Make sure you go ashore and drink plenty of tap water before you go deep sea fishing. See you when you get back.
