32019, *ANNOUNCEMENT* Bass N Tubes Joins FLW
Posted by Lake, Fri Jan-27-06 10:56 AM
With the recent fall out of BASS LLC/ ESPN, FLW Outdoors has taken over The Bass Federation (TBF). Bass N Tubes will no longer support BASS/ESPN and is joining FLW. BNT President Paul Mibach is in the process of transferring all the previous BASS stuff to FLW. The reason for this decision is the pull out and lack of support shown by BASS/ESPN for the West Coast and TBF. They dont want us and we dont feel we should be part of an unwanted party. FLW has stepped up to the plate and now has a partnership with TBF. You can get complete details on the partnership by going to this link on westernbass.com

http://www.westernbass.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11200

What should BNT members do? BNT members MUST be FLW members before 2/1/06. You will get a 25% discount from FLW for joining. Just go to the link below and use FEDERATION as your promo code. You can also call them and get this discount by telling them your with the Federation. You have to at least be a "standard" member to fish BNT. Here is the link to FLW's member info

https://www.flwoutdoors.com/membership/simple.cfm

If you wish to cancel your BASS Membership you can get refunded by calling them at (877)227-7872. Tell them your from California and are not happy with the support they are showing for the West Coast and the Federation. I recommend we all do this.

If you missed the post CZ put up comparing FLW vs. BASS here it is again.

IMO: This is a great thing for BNT and TBF. FLW has really stepped up in a lot of ways in a rough time. I look forward to fishing the FLW Federation events and being part of a FLW club in 2006.

The only reason this is coming from me is this was my last order of business as BNT President since it began in 2005.

Great news Lake. BnT has been behind TBF all the way and I am glad things have finally come to an end with this.
I am also very pleased with the outcome.

If someone is keeping track, I just joined.

Hey Lake, can we also get a refund for our BASS Fed membership, since we wont be needing that anymore (and it just started for 2006)?

Thanks,

John, does that mean he will take care of transferring our membership from BASS to FLW or do we still need to sign up with FLW ourselves?

I talked about in the orginal post. Its all up to the members if they want to be BASS members or not. Here is copy where I talked about this issue.

OK...I wasn't sure based on the post I quoted. It sounded like Paul was going to take care of it. I'll get a membership with FLW.

Just to clarify, If I miss the 2-1-06 deadline ,does that mean I`m inelligable to fish BNT as a member for the entire season or just the first tourney?
Thanks in advance ,Mike Pierce

Lake,
How does this play out with the SCBBBC when we fish with you guys for the Open in May? Do we still need to get FLW memberships or are we ok with BASS membership?

Also on a Federation note, I am fishing Region 3 and the Application asks for a BASS #, when is the change going to take place for the FED. I thought they are switching over after 2006. Could you please clarify?
Thanks,
T

Jiggin open events are open events no affiliation should be required.

Concerning hte Fed from how I understand it you will have to be a FLW member to fish in them, but contact your regional director for more specifics.

John is on the road right now but I believe I can help you out.

First the Opens are the same as always no membership is required so you do not need to be a member of FLW or BASS.

And as for federation the change should have already taken affect so I would just replace your BASS # with your FLW # on the application. And if you have not already you will need to join a FLW associated club.

Gordon,
For the Federation, do I need to join an FLW associated club or a Cal Federation associated club? Does anyone know if SCBBBC is a Cal Fed recognized club?

I will try and help. Per this post from Rich SCBBBC is staying with B.A.S.S.

http://www.calfishing.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=6&topic_id=31932&mesg_id=31979&page=

This would mean SCBBBC is not a member of The California Federation they would be a member of the new Federation Nation ran by B.A.S.S.

In order for you to fish The California Federation Region 3 events you would need to be a member of a California Federation club and FLW.

2 seperate animals now

SCBBBC is part of the B.A.S.S Federation Nation owned by ESPN/B.A.S.S

BNT is part of The California Federation owned by The Bass Federation (TBF) an entity of FLW

Hope this helps
