33286, Pinto Lake question...
Posted by anglerbg, Thu Apr-06-06 02:06 PM
I ran a search but didn't find an answer to my question, so thought I'd post it. I was thinking of tubing Pinto Lake sometime soon, I happened to stop there yesterday and had a chance to check it out. I was wondering, is it legal to put-in from the county park on the north side of the lake? I thought that would be cool because there aren't fees up there, and plus it's right next to some good looking water. Anyhow, I know quite a few of you have fished it, so I figured I'd ask. Thanks!

Technically you should pay at the park entrance. But to be honest no one will ever check, but they are good people there so I would go pay then go launch in the back of the lake not to mention we need to keep a good image for tubers! :+ All the water at Pinto is good water and if I were you I would just launch from the ramp and fish my way to the back, your car also has much less of a chance of getting broken into by the ramp instead of the county park...Let me know if you wanna fish sometime I live less than 5 minutes away. }( You could also by a year pass its only $25 for the year or its $5 a pop take your pick. Hope this helps.

I wasn't clear on what the park with the ramp charges- is there a parking fee and a boat launch fee, or just the launch fee? Thanks.

Just a launch fee.
