34449, Night fishing and wind?

The last few times out I have been blown off the lake(Kaweah). The winds start about 11pm and just gradually increase to the point where I can barely get my little kick boat back to shore. Is this a common occurance with other lakes? Is this just a phenomenon that comes with the heat wave we are having? I'm thinking with the high temps and the cooler water major convection currents cause big winds on the lake come night time. Anybody else experiencing wind at night lately?

Try Nacimiento Lake on Aug. 5th! :-) Seriously, This past week it has been Hotter then hell during the day. Then the high 60's at night. There is the common afternoon winds that come from the ocean, but after sun down it has been dead, no wind.

Thanks for the invite? My wife just informed me we have a dinner date with another couple on that night, but I will try and make it to that lake sometime. I've also been wanting to try McClure, have you ever fished it?

Tons of spots in McClure. I have never tubed it but you should be able to do well right around the marina at the Barret Cove launch ramp, there are fish all over that lake.
