36420, Delta Report Saturday and Sunday

On Saturday I ended up picking the boat up from the shop after having them get my boat ready for the year, I hadn't been out since October so it was fun just getting back out to the river. As I pulled into Beacon around 11:30am Joey Castro was hanging out at the dock and decided to put his kickboat in a slip and hop on board. I needed to run the boat around for a little bit so we did that and then made our way over to the tract and started tossing swimbaits. We each got a couple of fish and a couple of missed bites, but the fish we were catching weren't much bigger than our swimbaits. We bounced around a little bit and then decided to head over to watch the sonoma guys weigh in. A lot of fish hit the scales and few nice big ones as well, Carson's partner put a hurt on the fish and one over 8 and one around 7, good job dude!

On Sunday I headed out with the Wong man, and well the day was just wong for one of us. The wind had picked up a bit and we had a steady wind most of the day, but the fish were just smacking the jig yesterday. I went out into the tract and tried to catch the fish sitting outside of the tules, but couldn't get any reaction fish going, so I decided to head into piper and pitch jigs to the tule wall and they were all over it. Had a limit pretty quickly and caught one that went 5.4lbs. Then I headed over to a spot near connection and flipped another 7 or so fish from a bunch of wood, even picked up a couple of chatterbait fish. I was thinking I had something figured out with the tide and decided to try and keep going with it and ended up in whiskey and just choked, didn't get a sniff in there, so we bounced back out to the tract and ended our day. Fun time on the delta.
