367, Best Central California Lake for BASS TUBIN & Why?

OK everyone. We are putting together the 2001 schedule for the California Bellyboat Bass Championships. This will be a 5 Floattube Tournament series. With the "Top Bass Tuber of the Year" winning a New ODC 816 Kickboat, Shimano rod & reel combo, a Great looking plaque and oh yea $1000 CASH.

I need your constructive input as to which Central lakes (Ventura County north to?) & which Northern Cal lakes (other than Clear Lake & the Delta) we should choose.

Before you post an answer or e-mail me consider this. The lakes must have the facilities to put 60+ bass tubers on the lake comfortably for a 1 day event. They must be within reach of a good population of tubers and safe without to many Bass boats and perferable no jet ski traffic. And we need an area for a weigh-in and a shaded area for a BBQ and Awards.

I am open to all suggestions.

Definitely give Santa Margarita a look. No water/jet skiiers. Good fishing for
cooperative fish. Camping and bbq are options although hotel type
accomodations are about 15-20 minutes from the lake. Email me for more info

Hasn't Naci been a real DOWNER for us the past couple of years, though? The fish have not only been SMALL, but pretty hard to come by, as well! -- j

I was thinking Lake Berryessa @ Steel Park Resort-
All facilities, (707) 966-2123

This place has hotel accommodations along with shady campgrounds. I would prefer early in the season like Feb-Mar to avoid pressure from skiers. 02.

I'll provide more later.

Dink Do you have an idea of what time of year?
