It is lookin very good for me to make this one.We are going up to Placerville to pick up a car from the mother-in-law, leaving the family there on Saturday and coming back down to Middle River( hopefully giving myself some time to get on the water Saturday afternoon).

This will be my first time fishing the Delta from a kickboat (have fished a couple (2) proAms there). So, first question, where can we crash on Saturday night? Second question, is the launch site the same as in the past (CalPack rd - w. Klein rd)? Looking on Google maps and doing a search on Mitch's google maps he has posted in the past, looks like the launch is that little dirt patch on the corner?

Thanks!

Just want to confirm the launch site and see if anyone is crashing near there on Saturday night?? Also, about the barrier, how hard is it to get over? On google looks like water is spilling over in that picture. Sorry if it sounds like a lame question but I have never been there....Thanks

Bryan Your right about the launch. It's the wide patch right on the corner across from Union point and the Hwy 4 bridge. People camp on that corner all the time so that's about the best place to crash too!

The barrier won't be an issue this Sunday. High tide is a little after 6 so you should just cruise right over it. The only time water spills over is on a low outgoing then the barrier becomes a fun little class 0 rapid going down and a not so fun (but still easy) portage going up!

I wish I could join you guys but my daughter 8th grade graduation is Sunday! This will be the first MR tourney and only the second Delta tourney I have missed since joining BnT ;(

Someone bring a camera.

Bryan, you are correct about the launch site (cal pack to Klien Rd). There will be a bunch of our trucks parked, can't miss it. There's a Motel 6 as you exit on Tracy Blvd and make a left, that's like 10/15 minutes from launch site, I don't know if anyone is gonna sleep on the levee? The barrier is easy to get over on high tide, on low tide it can be a chore but doable. Hope this helps and I'll see ya there!

Brian,I would not recomend sleeping on the levy by yourself. The delta is a lawless place with some really nice folks :o The motel six at tracy blvd would be your best bet unless there is going to be a few people camping on the levy.
