We had 14 guys show up to fish Berryessa. It was a nice day on the lake but a tough bite. Mike Ayers won it with 4 fish for 7.23 lbs, with a nice 2.78 lb smallie to anchor his sack. Oscar Baeza brought 2 nice fish to the scale for 4.80 lbs to take second place and his first finish in the money in a BnT tourney. Congrats Oscar. Third place went to Mitch Teman with 2 fish for 3.85 lbs.

Thanks to Rich Caro and Steve Lynch for their donations.
Rich donated a Catch'em Caro bait to the tourney winner and the winner of the big fish pot.
Steve donated the 'GetterBack' Rod recovery systems to the winners.

Congrats Mike on a job well done as well as the rest who caught keepers. Man O man that was brutal. I swang for the fences in the morning and then it was slow drop shotting and jigs all day with a LV and Mr. Winters thrown in there a few times. Was only able to get a few dinks, but it was still a blast to say the least. Thanks to all the B-N-T staff for a great season on the water. This was my first year at triing to complete a B-N-T tour and I almost made all the tour stops. I will be fishing a few for sure next season. Thanks again for a great time.

Thanks for the results. Here's how my day went.

Wow was it tough bite. I've fished Berry once in the past, over a year ago, so I had no idea what to do, other than knowing that it's a clear water deep canyon lake. I was really excited when seeing bait everywhere. I decided to try a popper early morning around points, followed by small finese worms in deeper water. I didn't get one hit on the popper despite seeing fish jumping and feeding around me. Then I decided to dropshot and immediately got bit but no committments. I continued to get small hits without committments for a bit longer. The sun had appeared by now so I moved deeper to about 25-40ft range from 5-15ft. Then I saw a hump about the length of my kayak that went from 30ft to 20ft and back to to 50ft. But I was getting blown around in my yak and just could not hold position. I circled that hump for 1/2 hr hoping to run into a school, only to catch a few undersized smallies. I paddled around the rest of the day looking for similar structures but wasn't finding them. Then I decided to fish sandy-rocky shoreline transitions on the deeper side. The 1/2 oz drop shot weight just wasn't falling fast enough due to getting blown around so I switched to a 1.5oz spoon. I thought what the heck. I jigged it up and down as it was falling on the rock piles in 20-30ft of water and got what I thought was a snag but turned out to be the one and only keeper of the day. By that time, it was almost time so I back tracked towards the ramp for for no takers. The end
