Eighteen anglers made it to this years Delta Open at Piper Point Marina (formerly Beacon Harbor). The Delta was it's usual windy self this weekend and limits were hard to come by.

Jeff Wilson used his trusty drop shot to put together two solid limits and take the win with 26.98 pounds. Jeff also had the day 2 big fish of 5.16 pounds to anchor the victory.
In second place was Taylor Capilla with another pair of limits worth 21.68 pounds. Taking the third, and last, paying position was Scott Rouhier with 8 fish over the two days for 15.46 pounds. And first out of the money is Tyler Firebaugh with 8 fish for 15.13 pounds.
The day 1 big fish option was taken by Rob Linden with a 3.94 pound delta largemouth bass.

Congrats to Jeff, Taylor and Scott on a tough weekend.
As for myself, I should have packed up and gone home after I blanked the first day, the writing was on the wall when I headed for my tent Saturday night only to encounter a skunk waiting for me!

Coincidence? you tell me. I went ahead and fished Sunday only to get "Skunked" again. I can only hope for better luck next time.

Really fun tournament. The maiden voyage of my pontoon went better than expected. As for the fishing, that was tough. It was a grind both Saturday and Sunday but especially Sunday after the full moon.

Had a good time, even caught some fish. Thanks for putting on a good event(Mitch, Oscar, Steve and Dave)(weigh-in guys) and thanks to Jeff, Robert, Wayne, Rob and Scott for aiding this old guy in feeling a bit younger on Saturday night.

Fishing was brutal for me, but did get to see Elvis sing on Saturday night!
