47364, Can you guys suggest any charities that might take fishing stuff Posted by BuzzFish, Wed Dec-30-15 08:08 AM
Hi guys,
It has been a long while since I have posted here; hope everyone in doing well especially my friends and other long term members.
I pretty much gave up fishing over 3 years ago and have a bunch of misc tackle, hard baits, and plastics that I would like to donate to a charity. I would prefer something youth oriented and an organization where it will be used.
I sold my kick boat to Swampy and unloaded a few rod/reel combo's a couple years ago. Most of that kind of stuff that is left is either not worth much or is stuff that I can still use on the rare occasion that I do get out.
Any suggestions?
Clint

Contact Paul Rockwell (Rocky). You should remember him. He does work with kids to teach them fishing.

there are lot of people who lost equipment in the clear lake fire there might be a charity up there that can use the equipment. I personally gave a small boat to a friend who lost his in the fire, so now he can at least take his kids fishing.

Happy new year Clint!
Your local boy/cub scout troop might be a good place. Kids gotta get that fishing merit badge.

I think you would lose a couple of scouts in the pile... I may go that way but it would be a lot of plastics for one troop.

Ha. That didn't last. Going to make more soon. Gotta tweek the cure a little. It was a bit salty. Also have to possibly smoke with a stronger wood for less time. I'll get it right sooner or later.
