My New Melones report

My plan was to work the shoreline, going to towards the Marina. I rowed couple feet past the boat ramp and picked fish on my fish finder in 18 to 19 feet of water. I drop shot 5 fish of the area, but only one keeper about 1.5lb. I worked the whole shoreline towards the first cove towards the marina without one keeper fish. I found a ledge in the first back cove and caught a 3 lber on a hula grub. And the next hour didn’t get a bite. I decided to not fish the marina after running into Mitch and drop shot the area I just worked but deeper. I started picking up fish in about 22 feet of water, losing some really nice ones in the trees. I worked this pattern all the way back to the launch area. I found the fish where super tight to the timber, but you couldn’t get a good hook set because the bite was so light, didn’t know if I had a tree or a fish. I culled several times to make my weight of 8 lbs.
