48038, Where to fish?
Posted by woodsac, Tue Oct-03-17 05:53 AM
Couple questions...
Is it worth making the drive north or should I wait until spring? I plan to make it up around April regardless. Remember, Middle River is a 5+ hr drive. But I'm totally willing to make the trip. As far north as Clear Lake.

If it's worth the trip and not too cold yet, where? Middle River? Clear Lake? Coyote? I'm not familar with the area at all. I've only been to tournament locations. If there's good fishing at a park, and a campground nearby...I'm down. Lol. I have to be able to camp. I'd probably drive up on a Friday and drive home on Sunday.

I don't know about the fishing, but I thought we also camped somewhere around Franks Tract one time. A little campground across from the river maybe?

The Delta should be a good bite( I haven't been out for a while) and the stripers are in pretty thick. We used to camp at Beacon Harbor at franks tract and I know the marina by Holland has camping or at least I thought so.
rip baits, vibe baits and a lot of reaction baits should get some solid fish this time of year as well.
Good luck on what ever you decide to do and be safe!

No worries, just got back from Canada last night. No fishing but had a blast! Hope I get to fish more with my old friends and the club next year as I just didn't get out on the water much this past year.
Hope you see you on the river sometime
