What a fun day of half day fishing today. I got out there with 17 other anglers. Jason wanted to go have some fun and hunt surface feeding Bonito. The game plan is troll and look for breezers and birds. Once we got a stop the jigs (Krockidiles) or bait would be fished. The bait worked real well. Several stops I hooked multiple fish on anchovy with a small slider to get under the birds. The bonito were mostly 2-3 pounds. There were a few in the 4-5 pound range and JP was about 7 pounds.

The instant these fish were brought on board the crew would spike them and bleed them. They were then taggeg and placed into the sea water cooled bait tank. These fish came out sushi grade. I mean they were excellent table fare.

I cooked three up that night. Butter, garlic salt pepper and some rice. What a meal. Take advantage of our October Bonito. Do not think they are bad to eat. With proper care and handeling they are wonderful.

Total was 46 Bonito for the day.
