I planned on float tubing today, but I woke up pre dawn and it was raining. Just couldn’t do it solo in the rain. Slept in and decided to hit the low tide mid day.

I knew it was going to be a good day when you see Brandt on the beach

Fished noon to about 4:30. Saw several people heading in and it was a perch here perch there report. Started off throwing the LCFM and put in some serious time with it for nada. I was covering a ton of distance and water but couldn’t buy a bite.

Finally switched to the Big Hammer 3 inch redrum on the ¼ oz. yellow head. I was using Pro-cure Krill gel, my all time favorite flavor. Didn’t get the skunk off for at least an hour and a half and finally got a 6 inch bard.

I followed that up with a drag pulling prego mama. She had some serious girth and taped out about 14.25 and thick.

Picked another fish here fish there and had 5 by about 3:45, mostly 8 inchers.

Finally found the spot I was looking for all day. A little spot where the sand stuck out a bit farther a created a little corner. I knew it would hold fish before I even walked out there. I could cast down the beach almost parallel to the sand. There was good current flowing that way over a good structure line. I would cast down the beach and grind the hammer back up stream over the structure. They were rippin it big time and put on another 5 fish in about 30 min, including 2 more solid 14+ inchers that boiled and pulled drag. Lots of bites and lost a couple half way in.
