Why do you guy's think Loomis makes you pay 50 bucks to replace a broken rod when they take the shimano's back no ?'s asked and give you a new one? They are both owned by the same people right? I have had some cheaper shimano rods and was not impressed! Right now I am waiting on a HIGH $ Shimano rod you guys think they will make one? I know the warranty is more attractive than loomis.

Hey let that Bass go I wanna catch her some day

Crucial rods are pretty darn good for the money. They're light and sensitive and are around $150 with a lifetime warranty.

Loomis is the best as far as I'm concerned and the $50 is if they determine the rod broke in other ways besides fishing. You can just barely nick a rod and it will brake. You would be surprised... I have never had to pay before unless I was in a rush then they charge you $50 and they send you a new rod. They also include a shipping label to return the damaged one to them

So when your loomis rods break what do you do call them and ask for a label? I have a few of the crankbait rods and fortantly have not broke them but I expect they will eventually crap out? I was looking at the 150- shimano's yesterday and like the tenessee handle spinning rods but it seemed really stiff for a M anyhow I may have to get one and check it out, I only have 1 spinning rod left x( Cant skip docks very well w/ a baitcaster

Just call them and tell them you broke your rod. They offer you the two options of send it in or pay $50 and they'll send you a replacement with another shipping label in the rod tube. So you put your rod in the tube they sent and slap the new label on and send it out.

The rod does seem a little stiff but they are a light blank and you have to load them by hand.Shaking the rod will do nothing to show you the action of the rod. I have a couple that seemed to stiff until I fished them and I was pleasantly surprised.

When did Loomis change its policy? I replaced two Loomis rods in the past (the last one about 3 years ago) and all I had to do was take the rod to a Loomis dealer (Fisherman's Wherehouse) and pay $20.00 to cover shipping. The dealer shipped the rod and called me when it was replaced.

Lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what have-yous

I think the $50 thing is new for this year or maybe last year. Like I said if it's a warranty issue and you can wait then they usually don't charge. But if you were in a 3 day tourney and you needed a rod because it broke then the $50 option sounds pretty good

There are two options to Loomis' Expeditor program:

1. Pay $50 to have your replacement rod sent via UPS Ground, or
2. Pay $65 to get the replacement in TWO days.

You can also trade it out at any stocking Loomis dealer (but it's actually up to them if they want to do an over-the-counter Expedite.
