Would you like to get rid of this law?
A great friend of the angling community has set up a petition aimed at overturning the requirement to wear a fishing license.
You can sign it easily here:

I use to when it first went into effect. Its been years now since the last time I've worn it. I've been checked numerous times when fishing the salt and the officer waits patiently while I pull it out of my wallet.

I'm the same way and as far as I can see they do not enforce the requirement to wear it. It is always in my wallet so if i get a chance to fish I have it with me. I have been checked and they have not said anything while I get it out of my wallet.

No, I dont wear mine and I never will. That law was aimed at the salmon and trout guys fishing in rivers and as far as Im concerned doesnt apply to bass fisherman. The only time Ive worn it I lost it then had to pay to get a replacement, plus I hate having that thing around my neck.

Its never been a problem when Ive been checked, except once at Coyote. The guys was a total ass about it, but then I again I think they are assess at that lake about pretty much everything.

Its not a Coyote thing its a santa clara county lakes thing. I had dfg at calero ask for mine, it was in my pocket. She then whined that it was suppose to be visible. I explained that if you fish as much as I do you wouldnt be able to read it due to the elements. She though she was doing me a favor and took my license out of the holder and wrote a warning notice on it. She then gave it back to me and told me I got lucky today, next time she would write me up.

I wear mine all the time, I guess I just got used to it. I clip it on my belt as soon as I get out of my truck, or get in my boat depending on where I am fishing. I like the fact that when I do see DFG checking people, they never bother me cause they can see it. I have never been checked since I have been wearing it.

I wear mine all the time around my neck...with the exception of fishin canals especially when its windy. Im never more than 50 yards from my truck and thankfully the wardens dont mind driving half a mile an hour behind me as I walk to my truck to get it haha. It is annoying, well mine is since it hangs right where I reel and had it hang up on it a lot. I truly think its a good thing to make sure the fisherman is licensed since there are so many people who fish that shouldnt be. People using 8 rods keeping fish well below their limit size, using 4 hooks at a time. I mean come on, a little education goes a long way. I would like it if everyone who wanted a license had to take tests for the fish they fish for....very unrealistic I understand but there are so many people out there who haven't a clue on rules and regulations, or do and just don't follow them.

Id rather be fishin!
