This is my favorite thread in months.

Let me see if I know any of your spots.
On marina one by the bathrooms, if you drop a plastic between the bathroom and the main walkway, you hook up grassbass every time. For sandbass K dock is best on the left hand side as you go down. The end of marina one is ronkie central. The second dock on the left, I forget the letter, is also a good sand bugger spot. Then of course there's the bait dock and the base of the pier, and don't overlook the stones just outside the breakwall by the bouys as you come around the breakwall on the right. And don't forget the coast guard pier at night in late summer. Seabass move in there pretty good sometimes.

Oh yes, and while I'm at it, I believe Jamon and I set the sand bugger record one night with 9 legal sandies in one 2 hour outing off marina 1 to 3.5lbs. Brian holds the seabass record with the 15lber though. But I may have the halibut record with the 33" - 13lb fish off marina 1.

So maybe I'M THE HARBOR KING }> !!!

I will dig up some pictures to help in your voting shortly!

Dude, this is by far the funniest thread ever. I remember that picture of Jamon. The key to being the Harbor Rat King is to wear a sandbass protector on your arm, as demonstrated by Jamon. hey Harbor King and Harbor Rat, if you guys are the true harbor kings, what are your records? So far it seems that you've been outfished. 15# seabass, 13# halbibut, 3.5# sandbass... Maybe we can setup a ronkie division just for you. Or grass bass record... LMAO.

Dude i told you where all the hot spots to fish in the harbor for white sea bass and every time you go there we cetch them. I know the the harbor like my back yard i know pilings that every time you drop down you cetch a sand bass. I always know where the halibut are and reefs alround the harbor. I will say that i cetch alot of fish but i know where the spots are and there are fish on it every time. I fish in my skiff and took you Harbor Rat and showed YOU where the halibut were every time we would put an anchovie down it would be bitten in half in no time and thats why i am a good fishermen if you dont belive me them come all take you on.

Harbor King, Rat, Prince, Emperor, etc. Where are your pictures? Break 'em out - we'd love to see them.

Also, keep in mind that if there is ever a showdown it will be artificials only - anybody can drag bait around - it doesn't prove anything.

I thought I read in one of these many posts about dropping anchovies near pilings or something. I too do not like bait fishing very much unless it's wide open. Otherwise it's just too boring.

If you want to fish sometime just let me know.

I'm most likely going to tube Goleta (cove) Friday morning and surf fish or tube somewhere on Sunday morning.
