Thought this might be a fun one. These two plugs below are my all time best plugs. The little one is a 7" AC Minnow. I've had to repaint it three times, it's caught that many fish. I would estimate conservatively that it has caught 150 fish for me including 14 in one day at Margarita one year.
The bigger one is my favorite 9" MS Slammer. This is the plug I caught my 15-12 out of San Pablo on as well as an 8.15 at spring lake in April of this year. It has accounted for probably around 50 fish so far.

nice! I need to scan some of my CD 18 raps that the makos have abused, I frickin love chewed up plugs! Way to go on the bass, I have a couple of older AC plugs that have some good memories carved into them. Tight lines!

Thanks for the photos. I have found a source to get ome of Allan's original lures and that is why I was asking about the colors.

I use a snap although I didn't used to for many years. The thing about tying directly is that occasionally the knot will get pushed to either side which will cause the lure to run crooked. You can just push it back to straight but that get's old after a while. I also believe that the knot gets weak over time when tied directly to the eye because the eye on the slammer is pretty wide and it makes the knot chafe back and forth. In addition the snap allows the plug to kick back and forth a little better I feel.

Where do you get a snap to handle a lure like the Slammer and fish that will eat the bait?

Saltwater snaps? big split rings?
