One word- sick. I saw the floating version at BWW in the test tank, and it is death. The bait kicks at a super super slow retrieve, slower than any bait I've seen kick. The dorsal fin sticks out of the water on the retrieve, and it has more of a subtle kick that looks like a trout cruising the surface. Very excellent looking bait, I highly recommend.

If you get there on the right day, haha, the first batch sold out pretty quick. Another order is on the way right now.

Thanks everyone for the heads up, tacklewarehouse's stock is going fast too.

Brian- did you get a chance to see any of the sinking models? The 12 or 16? I ordered a floater and a 12er, guess it will run in about 12ft of water. Thx-

Here I go again buying more baits....I need help :P

No, the floating one was the only one left when I was in there last week. Let us know how the sinking one kicks, I'd imagine it'd be tough to get that super slow tail kick, but I think it will still have that cool cruising trout look to it.

Indeed that bait is death, just as Brian said. The floating bait on a super slop retreive, theres nothing like it. The sinking models should be killer also. We will have those in the shop soon, as well as a shipment of stocker trouts. Good fishing everyone.

Brian.

I got a chance to give my huddleston a test run today. To say to least I am very impressed!! It has the most realistic swimming action I have seen so far in bait. It looks just like a cruising trout. I got the 5 foot sinker, true to its lable it sinks about 5 feet on a slow retrieve.

I keep telling myself "this is the last rod/reel."

Thanks for the report. I got the -5 also. Haven't had a chance to test it. But after your report, my hopes are up. I was concerned about the action. I don't see how it possibly swims very well. But I bought it anyway. Does the head wobble? Or just a lil tail wiggle?

the head does go side to side just the right amount. It looks just like a real fish.

I got the rof 16 yesterday. haven't had a chance to throw it but as far as the quality and the detail on the bait goes, I was impressed big time. When you get over 20 bucks in the rubber bait department, you better be getting something worth the money. This bait could very well be worth the $25 price tag. I guess everyone else thought so too because Tackle Warehouse sold through a whole lotta baits in about 2 days.

While we're talking about them I got mine today. ROF 0. I attached a #6 split ring with a 2/0 Gammie. I used the same size clip for the line as I use on the 9" Slammer. Anybody using different size components then that? Should I use a split ring for the line attachment instead? It seems to me that a stinger might affect the action. Any thoughts?

I use a ss o-ring with an owner 2x 1/0 black chrome treble and the same goes for the stinger attatched via sevenstrand sevalon ss wire w/crimp.........needless to say both fish mentioned fell victim to the STINGER. nuff said, Moon

I tied directly to the floater, it seemed to work good because of the positioning of the eyelet on the head.

The stinger is also a good idea, lost the first fish to come up on it(without the stinger),but i think you gotta let'em have it a second..then swing. Just be ready.

It's true, the head does wobble back and forth with the tail.............but slow and subtle. I've tested both the 12 and 16, 8" model and they both popped fair fish (6.1 lbs and 9.4 lbs). The bigger fish on the 16. One could argue that it's the most realistic of the softbaits, but thats just me................think deep, Moon

by the way, there is the original 12" model with the same rate of fall as the 8"( if you can afford it) check out www.huddlestondeluxe.com

I would love to get the 12" but 85$ for a rubber bait is absolutly crazey(imho). If a fish is hooked in the right or wrong place the bait could be taost after one fish. But hey different strokes for different folks,i got the floater and it seems like the internal plastic could easily tear or separate from the rubber around it.Its a graet bait though, but there still is no such thing of a silver bullet. As far as looks it LOOKS just like a little planter.Still pricey for a poor chump like myself. The price we pay to be able to play.Tight lines fellas they are movin up,
Billy.

My huddleston ROF 5 came into today. Good grief, what an amazing bait. I am not sure of people success on it so far, but I have to say I think they will absolutey kill this when they are holding on specific cover and aren't in the mood to chase. The subtle slow kicking action of this bait is completely unique.

Who has the ROF 16? I am curious to know how fast they fall. Is it like a senko? Faster? Slower? Thanks.

Nevermind. I just bought a 16 so I guess I will find out for myself. Good lawd almighty I spend more on trouts than I do on my girlfriend. I could have fed myself for 4 months with the money that I have spent in the last couple of days. And the sad part is, I'm not even halfway to the point I want to be. I still need ac's and slammers and stockers, and castaics. Where does the madness end??!
