I`m going to give power pro a try but I`m a little concerned on what knot best suits this line.I tried braid when spider wire first came out and had a bad experience during a tourney where twice i lost nice fish because my knot slipped, after that tourney i took that stuff off my spool and said it just isn`t worth the grief.But now it seems like an advantage to have it on in alot of situations and if i could just pull my head out and tie a secure knot i know i can make it work to my advantage.Anyway my ? is what type of knot are you guys tying on that use this line and do you put a drop of super glue on it afterwards?I`ve heard some people do this I wouldn`t think it would be necessary if you have a good knot but I guess i would rather be safe than sorry if it is recommended.Any advice on this would be appreciated, thx Bill

I've been using a Palomar knot on frogs & haven't had a slippage problem. Scott Green told me he also ties a Palomar for frogs. I have read that its strength isn't as good as some other knots, but I haven't had a slippage problem.

For buzzbaits, I use a doubled-over uniknot (I think that's what it's called) that Todd showed me. Seems like you only have to wrap the line over itself three times to get a secure knot. I also went to scissors for cutting the tag ends, & that works way better than the regular clippers I use for mono.

I'm using 65# power pro on my flippin stick and I only use a Palomar knot. I also use super glue, I believe it's cheap insurance. I have yet to have any problems doing it this way.
I'm pretty sure the manufacturer recommends using a Palomar knot for tying on hooks and a uni to uni knot for tying to your backing.

I haven't used PowerPro yet but for my spiderwire I always go with the doubled over Uni knot Andy is talking about. I found it is the closest know to get to 100% breaking strength with braided superlines. The Palomar is an excellent knot also but still not quite as strong as the double uni. Not that its going to matter most of the time since even if the palomar retained 50% of its strength that still means 65lb PowerPro will still need 32lbs of force to break...try doing that with your hands!

I use the Trilene knot, which has a double loop through the hook eye. In a BASS WEST article some years back, their tests determined that the Trilene was slightly stronger and more consistent than the Palomar, so I've pretty much used it ever since.

As Mitch says, adding a drop of superglue is 'cheap insurance' -- I like that. However, while I had noticed some knot slippage without the glue on Berkley Fireline, I've noticed the PowerPro holds considerably better on its own, without the glue.
