#260, "**Preliminary** club YTD weights"

I still have to have John run through these numbers, but working from Rob's '2000 Results' page, I've compiled the year-to-date stats for weights & points, through last Sunday's tournament (9/24). I'm only going to list the TOP 12 **weights** here (I have too many uncertainties with points, especially in relation to who showed up at any give tourney).

After the top 12, it drops down to guys who've only weighed in at a couple of tourneys, where their 'Angler of the Year' chances are pretty much unattainable -- although maybe they'll surprise us with a couple of **30 lb. bags** up at Clear Lake!!! :- )

Keep in mind, these are **very much** subject to change (although I think I'm pretty close)! Read 'em & weep!

Total Cumulative Weight for the year:
1) Darce Caldwell - 63.36
2) John Lake - 53.45
3) Eric Howard - 51.37
4) Jeff Smith - 40.02
5) Clint Ryle - 33.09
6) Rob Belloni - 31.14
7) Tim Crane, Sr. - 24.79
8) Max Krieg - 24.37
9) Joe Castro - 24.08
10) Charlie Robinton - 23.80
11) Tim Crane, Jr. - 23.68
12) Dave Ryle - 14.01

Points are awarded as such:

Participation in any event: 5 points
1st Place finish: 5 points
2nd Place finish: 3 points
3rd place finish: 2 points
'Big Fish' for the day: 2 points (awarded separately each day, in the event of a 2-day tourney)

One thing to keep in mind, in both points AND weights: just by showing up, you get points (and they add up, trust me -- I was surprised how high up I got, with no stellar finishes to speak of!), and those weights get up there, too, even if you only bring in a couple of pounds each time.

Also, if you're really after 'Angler of the Year' (for 'most weight'), you don't want to miss those 2-day Clear Lake events!

Everybody got their **SENKO's**??? I hear they're pretty hard to come by at the tackle shops up there! Let's go GET 'EM!!!

hey guys,
Another thing to keep in mind with the season winding down, is that I've still got the "most improved angler award." For those of ya who didn't know it, I made the club a plaque for most improved angler of the year as a class project in comp. graphics. I haven't been able to make to any events to hand it to John, but hopefully I'll get to clear lake. Somethin to think about. Maybe we should start looking for candidates now.
