Hey guy I have been thinking about getting an upgrade from my day tripper float tube. I was looking at the Creek Company ODC 1220 Pontoon Boa this boats is can convert from 1 man or 2.Has motor mount with optional second standing platform and raised swivel seats. Ok now I'm thinking my wallet would be on fire just thinking about a kb like this but only 999.00. Has anyone tried this kb or seen or knows anyone with one any feed back would be appreciated.

You won't get many responses until Monday since most guys are either at a tournament and/or only post from work Mon-Fri. That is a big, big kickboat. At 12 and a half feet long and almost 6 feet wide I think it would be hard to handle as a one-man boat. Unless you plan to use it as a 2-person boat a lot, I would suggest something smaller. You could buy 2 decent kickboats for that price if you wanna bring a buddy along.

I Think you probaly right about the size may cause the kb to be a little hard to handle with fins and oars alone for one person. Im strongly considerin using a trooling motor with this kb. right now I have been running a waterskeeter daytripper and quite frankly i cannot keep up enough wiith a kb with just fins. My gf is willing to pay half for the kb as long as its a 2 person kb. Now im wondering how much of a problem would it be to get around with just myself in the kb because i really would to hit a few tournys and now i have the opertunity to get a kb but i want to make sure this is a good kb for 2 people and just 1 also so i finnaly can do a little torny fishing with the fellas.

Like mentioned erlyer this kb is 52/3 feet x 121/2 witch is large do if any of yau are rinning a largr kb do u have any feed back on handling youre kb.

I agree with Doug, the big boats are hard to handel. My father in law has a large two man boat and it is considerbly harder to fish out of than my ODC 816. It was only really mangeable with a trolling motor.

How do you like your waterskeeter? If you are happy with the quality, waterskeeter has a setup that might work good for you. It is 2 separate kb's that can be attached together to make one big one. It might be worth a look.

I was tempted to get that so my wife could go, but I wanted something with a high weight capacity that was still pretty light and could handle at least a class 3 river. I bought a Skykomish Sunrise from Dave Scadden for $999. With a capacity of 600 lbs and a weight of about 65lbs it can handle the 2 of us and our stuff for small lakes and stuff. I'm in the middle of designing a second seat and standing platform so my wife can go out with me. I'm hoping to implement it this weekend.

Was the handling dificult for 1 preson 2 or both? And are we takling lake handling or river i doubt that i will be river sishing with my kb mabye with the acception of Middle river tracy. I was also wondering witch watterskeeter model has the option of attaching 2 kb's together. My watter skeeter floatrube seems to be nice qualty and i love their coustmer service. have any of yall fellas delt with the coustmerservice of The Creek Company?

I was speeking of both still and moving water and both one and two people. With one person the added lenght made it very hard to control with fins in the still water (I never used it by myself in the moving water) With two people one person had to be controling the boat with the oars in the moving water. In the still water fins helped to stedy the boat but it was still very dificult to position the boat in the way I would have liked.

I think you will be much happier in the long run if you go with the smaller boat. For the price of the 12 footer you could get two real nice 8 footers. The smaller boats are just easier to deal with. You can toss it in the back of a pick-up or up on the roof rack of an SUV without deflating it everytime you use it. A 12 footer will have to be dis-assembled and re-assembled every time you go out pretty much. An 8 footer will be a lot easier to controll especially when it gets windy.

The ODC 816 has proven to be a dependable boat and I know of at least a couple of BnTers who started out with them. The Creek Company has great customer service and they are a major sponsor of the Bass-N-Tubes opens.
