I just had my first opportunity to go out fishing on the Stardust. It was an unbelievable experience. Although I have been to several different landings in the month of July, I must say that the Stardust is the best run boat that I have been on.

The young crew was amazing: they worked harder than any crew I have seen. Not only were they pleasant and helpful, but; they kept the boat spotless! I must have seen them wash the deck off a dozen times! It was so clean you could have eaten off it.

Obviously, the crew is a reflection of the Captain. This is one boat where the Captain is involved! As soon as we were in position, the Captain was out on deck. He gave encouragement, tied rigs, gave helpful advice and made sure everyone was having a good time. It was his personal involvement as well as the work ethic of his crew that made the trip memorable.

Santa Barbara is a beautiful area and a trip out into the smooth bay on the Stardust was worth the money even if we hadn't dropped a line. When you add to that the quality of the fishing experience and the pleasant customer-oriented crew, you couldn't ask for a more relaxing trip. Don't get me wrong, on the afternoon trip, by the oil rigs we were pulling up two small rock cod on almost every drop: everyone limited out. On the way back in, the Captain even hunted down a school of fiesty barracuda for some real rod pulling action. It's just that the trip itself left you feeling content and glad that you were lucky enough to have had such a wonderful experience on such a beautiful day.

I heartily recommend this Captain, crew and vessel to anyone: whether you are a die hard fisherman or just someone who wants a relaxing day out on the bay. I think this trip is especially well suited for family outings and as soon as my little boy is old enough, I plan on making this trip his first fishing experience: it's that good!
