#288, "Help needed in Santa Barbara Channel"

I'm a hardcore San Diego/Baja saltwater guy who needs help from a 'counterpart' in the Santa Barbara/Oxnard area.

I was recently given a list of inshore 'hot spots' and their GPS waypoints within the Santa Barbara Channel, but don't have a clue as to the species and type of fishing that I can expect in those areas (surface/bottom,lures,live bait, etc.).

The spots are: SHORT BANKS - 34 00.00’: 119 01.06’, FINGERS AREA - 34 03.60’: 119 10.50’, 72 FATHOM BANK - 34 03.30’: 119 11.00’, BASS ROCK - 34 06.40’ : 119 11.60’, GINA - 34 07.03’ : 119 16.63’, GAIL- 34 07.50’ : 119 24.07’, SECRET SPOT 1- 34 11.20’ : 119 21.60’, VENTURA FLATS - 34 14.00’ : 119 19.00’, GILDA - 34 10.93’ : 119 25.17’, GRACE - 34 10.78 : 119 28.13’, PITAS POINT- 34 18.13’ : 119 22.10’, DULAH REEF - 34 18.15’ : 119 22.10’, RINCON REEF- 34 20.75’ : 119 26.75’, HEIDI - 34 20.55’ : 119 31.17’, HOPE - 34 20.45 : 119 31.90’, HABITAT - 34 17.20’ : 119 35.33’, DOME AREA - 34 13.36’: 119 41.28’, 12 MILE REEF - 34 14.00’ : 119 42.00’,CAMBYS - 34 23.20’ :119 42.50’, 50 FATHOM BANK - 34 20.50’ : 119 47.20’, MOHAWK REEF - 34 24.20’ : 119 45.30’, SECRET SPOT 2 - 34 23.40’ : 119 58.50’, NAPLES REEF- 34 25.00’ : 119 57.80’, HONDO - 34 23.45’: 20 07.23’.

I'm happy to share these reportedly HOT fishing spots with others who may be interested in giving them a try before marine reserves proposed by the DFG have a chance to limit sportfishing activity in the area.... but I also REALLY need a little help myself so that I can also have a chance to take advantage of the action.

P L E A S E : IS THERE A 'HOT STICK' OUT THERE IN THE CHANNEL ISLANDS AREA WHO CAN ADVISE ME ABOUT THESE SPOTS?

NOTE: I also have decades of saltwater angling experience, and possess a broad knowledge of tips for successfully fishing San Diego's harbor and Mission Bay. In addition, I also have LOTS of 'insider' information on a variety of GREAT fishing spots in northern Baja California which I'd be more than happy to provide to anyone that's interested and who can share their knowledge regarding the previously mentioned spots and GPS Waypoints!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Tight Lines,

I too would like to know the answers for some of these spots, but I believe that you will get more replies if you post this question on the Saltwater Board of this site instead of this Stardust board.

Good luck.
