Left dock out of Long Beach Sportfishing at about 6:45 am,on a
course to catalina island, we had no live bait so we settled
for old dead squid.We got to the island at about 8:35, the main
species target were either calico or perch, and both were in full
feeding mode with the bass biting the lead head and squid, and
perch on any rig as long as it had squid.To summarize all this
excellent calico acion with the whole squid with almost everybody
getting there full share of bass,also alot of nice big bass with
the biggest being a 5lb wich was released with a few other nice
sized bass.The perch action was great with people catching opaleye,
blacksmith,and blue perch.Good Fishing at catalina with squid.
