13160, Blown out of Cherry Beach

The wind was still blowing this morning in SA but decided to stick to the plan. Got to Mothers Beach to find it pretty calm. While making bait, got a call from MisterZ. He was at NP bay. I told him that was plan B if the wind was still blowing. Sorry MisterZ. About 7:30 we were in the water fishing. By that time the wind had already start a breeze. We were working our way to the pier. Shadow was working at the bouy line while I was working closer to shore. Shadow was first to pickup a hali. I was a bit away and saw that his pole was double over. Finally after a couple of mins I saw water splashing all over him. He tried for a while to get a hold of the hali but couldn't so I made my way back to help him. It turned out he had a legal hali at 23". He passed me the rod and I was able to hand gilled it in the first attempt. We continued to work our way towards the pier. The wind had picked-up. I got to the second lifeguard station north of the pier and decided to turn around since the wind is starting to gain strength. On the way back I managed to pick up two short halis at ~16" and ~17". About a 1/4 way back the wind blew big time. There was white caps everywhere. Also there was a lifeguard truck on the beach. :D Not sure if they were keeping an eye on us or what. By the time we got back to the parking lot, the beach had a sand storm and the lifeguard drove by us. Also met Alex aka asiele while getting ready to leave. Nice meeting you. Forgot the camera at home, so no pics. :( I had to charge the batteries for it because of all the bass pics yesterday. Total for me was 2 halis and Shadow caught 2 halis and 1 shovelnose. He thought he caught a barn door until he got it to color. He did get a free ride; the shovel dragged him around for a little while.
