My friends and I have another name for the barni - If there is someone who is just clueless about fishing we call them a "TOOL."

It is inevetable that you will run into one or a couple of tools any time you go out on a party boat. Tools are pretty predictable. In recent weeks out on the boats I have run into - the broken pole guy - someone who fishes with a pole that is too light for the conditions so every time he reels up it looks like he is hauling up a fish; then there was 45 degree cast guy who, no matter how hard he tries, can not do anything but cast over everyone else's line; then there is always the guy who will jump right in next to you on the boat right after you catch a fish after he has been skunked all day. One of my favorite tools is Mr. "too many big hooks." Some people just have no clue what they are fishing for on a party boat and their rig usually looks like it should be in a meet locker.

To top it all off, last week we had a herd of tools on the Stardust. They thought it was great that there were benches on the boat so they could sit down while they fished. They didn't seem to mind that they created a barrier for anyone trying to get to the bait tank.

I could go on and on. I have taken a new attitude towards tools. I usually try to say something to educate them and point them in the right direction. Besides, it is insurance for me that by the end of a fishing day I won't have a deep sea 6/0 rock cod rig stuck in my spine!

Here's a new one for ya.

HOOK.

A person with the capability to do everything precisely wrong. IF your a HOOK you probably have thrown yourself off the boat by accidentally HOOKING yourself.

Deckhand Mike = HOOK

The crew of the Lenbrooke and select individuals at Captain Hooks are total tools! I need an anger management class after my last experience with this god foresaken landing.See my posting at the following link:
