I threw my new Huddleston Deluxe today. ROF 0. They weren't kidding it floats! It doesn't sink at all. I burned it in several times and got it to go under about 1".

So that's the good part. The bad part is when it was on the surface it had no action what so ever. When it went under the tail kicked pretty good and it had some head wobble.

Should I try and add a little weight up front? Has anyone else thrown the 'O' with any better results.

It does look great sitting in the water :-)

I am no expert, but I think the ROF 0 is meant to be a deadsticking bait more than anything else.

mine works ok, i just crank it really slow and it will kick the tail and move the head.

You know the saying.. when you think you are going slow enough, go slower... well they were definately talking about this bait... just throw it close to you and reel in and you will see that you have to go EXTREMELY slow. From a distance it looks like you are reeling in a stick but that tail does wiggle back and forth ever so little.

On the getting it to go under... if you are in a boat, stick the tip in the water and reel and it will either wake under the surface or go down a few more inches.

these observation are only from playing with my baits for a little while friday. But I was a little disappointed with the ROF 0 so it may just be my deadsticking bait.

Dead sticking is very, very good on a dark night. cv

I kinda have a love hate thing going on right now with the floater myself, when I go slow and I mean REAL slow it looks awesome. On mine the back fin and tail are totally visible and the tail kicks well enough to leave a very visible wake and it looks exactly like a trout that has been dazed and is just cruising along the top. I stop or twitch it every so often but sloooowww is the only way i can fish it.
That is the hate part, this is pretty much a deadstick or painfully slow retrieval bait, it's hard to go that slow, for me anyway. Also it seems to be best in super calm/ glass conditions, probably best at night,early morning or evening...no wind.
If I even crank it a little bit under the surface it falls to one side and stays there.No action. I think it was designed just to stay on top.....nothing more.

The ROF 12 on the other hand is a bitchen bait, it sinks but not too fast, it can be worked right under the surface or alot deeper. It runs straight no matter the speed you retrieve it at and with the double or single hook options it is very versatile.Plus with the super realistic looks...I think I've got my new confidence bait, it helps to have caught a few fishies on it also. :)

How does the ROF 12 sink? On its side? Or still perfectly upright?

It falls nose first like most baits with a lead head but it runs straight.It closely resembles the castaic sinker but does'nt run in the water like a lipless crank/ rattle trap.

That's the best I can describe it, i know I suck :P
