I an thinking of making a swimbait storage system where I would use possibly pvc tubes with a wire or piece of coat hanger through the top of the pipe with a clip to hold the baits hanging in the middle of the tube. I could store the tubes in an ice chest or tackle bag and the baits will alwats be hanging properly. I got the idea after seeing systems made to store large saltwater metal jigs. Will pvc pipe react with soft plastic baits? Is there any other material that would work if pvc will not? Appreciate any help I can get on this. Thanks,Dylan

Thanks for the help. Some of those musky boxes are nice. Big and spendt though. I do use the plano boxes but I have had baits get pushed to one end of compartment and get a little tweaked.

Serch the archives of this site. I think it was Mattlures who posted a picture of his plano boxes with a metal hanger running through the box to keep his baits in place. It is a great idea and looks very simple to do.

The regular plano boxes work pretty good. I'd be concerned about water collecting in those tubes causing hooks and stuff to rust. You'd have to make sure your swimbait was fully dried out before putting it back in the tube. With a tackle box you can just open the lid and let it all air dry when you get home.
