Surffished the late afternoon using sandcrabs for bait for a couple of baby Leopard sharks as well as 20 plus Barred perch...all fish released. Only saw a few corbina which wouldn't bite. Summertime crowds are now gone with tons of seagulls on the beach...nice day down there.

TBrumfield do you know if you can surf fish along strands beach or is that a protected are? I've seen a few rocks there that could hold fish and tons of sandcrabs.

Yes, you can surffish Strands beach. There is some kind of marine preserve nearby where you can't fish... I think it is just south of Strands around the headlands (by the Ocean Institute). However you can most definitely surffish Dana Strands...some fun Corbina there as well!
