#905, "Wanted Truline Blank"

If anyone out there can direct me to an outlet or individual where I can buy an original Trueline D-8 blank or an original Trueline TNT Blank, I would greatly appreciate this.

I know where you can get a Truline. Don't know if it's the blank or style you're looking for though. It's a 7' oldschool 2 piece (breaks down at the butt). It's a sweet rod, newly rewrapped and not too heavy. Let me know if you're interested, my boss is asking $175. But, maybe if you're interested I can talk him down. I'd get it myself, but the wife would shoot me for sure.

Thanks for info. I am really looking for a D-8. This is an eight foot blank, one piece. It is a monster and if you can handle pulling on it causes problems to the fish. Being in Southern Calif and working on a party boat you might find someone who either has one to sell or might no someone who does. I woudnt mind an original Harnel either.

No boats for Ed till I fish on one, or summer comes again. I'm back at school now and things are really busy so not much time for fishing and the boats just take too much out you. I need all the energy I can muster. I'm working at a tackle shop 1 day a week now. I'll see what else we have in the shop. I know we had another Truline, but I don't know what it is/was. I'll see what we have.

Call Rick at ANGLERS DEN in Camarillo. He carried Truline for a long time. I think his number is 805-388-1566.

Amish Ed, does your friend happen to have a TNT at home. I would also like one of them.

I probably wont be posting any fishing experiences for a while. Duck season opens saturday. For the next few months its duck hunting every week. I cant get enough. I'll keep reading, good luck

Thanks for the number. I called. The store only has the new blanks. I am going to look at them. My brother has a new D-8 and it is not even close to the original. Hope I get lucky and someone points me to an original. Howard

Here's the # for the shop I work in, 949-493-3528. Billy is the owner and has some Trulines at home (don't know what he'd be willing to sell). Make sure it is Billy you talk to not Bill. Let me know what happens.

Contact Mike Nichols at Executive Tackle in San Diego. He is a true Truline collector, and will part with rods at the right price. He does know his stuff. If you're looking for a pre-1973 blank (you can ask him what that means,) he's got quite a few. He'll also have a TNT, along with just about everything else John Collins ever made.
Good luck!
