Any information on large swimbaits at laguna niguel lake would be very helpful. Im planning on trying some 3:16 baits there in a week or so lookin for a big bass, but havent heard of many people using this there. Do you know where they stock the trout? Any ideas or hints would be appreciated. thanks!

I don't belive it is very popular to throw the big baits for bass there, which could be good news for you.It is mostly a hardcore trout fishing lake with bi-weekly plants(i think) of Utah raised trout. They don't look like usual planters,a darker brown back and not the real flashy silver look to them. They remind me more of a salmon then a trout, especially the hook-jawed males.

The lake really is'nt to big so I would'nt worry about where they put the trout into the lake as much as where would the big bass sit around and wait to ambush a trout! Theres an Island,Dam and lots of tulies,it's a small compact version of a large lake with a good size population of big bass.

Remember this is a trout first fishery, during this part of the year anyway,so don't be suprised to get the evil eye once or twice when your "big bait" makes a big splash a little to close to a powerbait soaker in his shark donut. ;)

I think it's C&R only for bass and it might cost less for you to fish if you tell them your fishing for bass only ?? Good luck...
