Hey

I tried fishing some live crawfish last night and I did pretty good. I have never done that before. I just tied a carolina rig on with a weedless hook on it, and I hooked the crawfish in the tail. Is this the correct way to fish crawfish? Anybody have any pointers? What about places to fish them? I only fished them mainly in one spot. It was on a point with rip rap close to a light. I caught a 9lb 5oz, 6lb 3oz, and a 4lb 10oz bass. My buddy caught one around 4lb and a 8lb 13oz catfish. These fish were all caught in 15-20min in one spot. Should I stay at this spot and fish for a long time or should I fish it until they quit biting and then fish somewhere else for a while. Then, comeback a little later and do the same thing? This was the best night of fishing I have ever had. Our 5 biggest fish weighed 38lb 9oz.

Thanx

Hi!

I think this will answer your questions: http://www.trophybassonly.com/id47.htm

Also, try to watch the video "Bodacious Bass" (Bob Crupi and Dan Kadota).

Usually, live bait is better during the day than at night. At night lures are better (specially big lures), because it's easier for bass to find them! But it seems that you had a great night using live bait, so, if it works for you just continue to do it! (but try some lures in the same places)

Good Fishin'!

We were fishing lures also. I caught 2 over 7lbs on jigs. We fished the area where we caught all those fish first with lures and we didnt get a bite. Then we put the crawfish in there and it didnt take long at all to hookup. Thanks for the article. I found and read it last night.
