Hey everyone, me and a couple of my buddies have found a couple of lakes in our area (this is very rare for socal) that are way off the beaten trail and probably have been fished a couple times, maybe never. To get to them you have to hike and do a little trespassing, but it is all worth it. Well anyway we fished one of the lakes today and had little success. This was very suprizing to me because i am a pretty avid fisherman with quite a few tourney victories under my belt at the tender age of 15. Well anyway this lake drops off considerably a few inches off the shore in the area we fished today and seemed to be a pretty consistant depth throughout the whole area. We drop-shotted, fished creature baits, deadsticked plastics, and slow rolled spinnerbaits which usually can get at least a handful of fish from local lakes this time of year. Do any of you guys or gals out there have any ideas on what bait/technique could lure some trophy fish out of there. Sometime this week i am gonna go back and see what i can do on Osprey. Any ideas are welcome, if you live in the westlake/t.o. area you can swing by malibu fish n' tackle, which is where i work. Maybe it is the time of year or that we only got to spend a little over a hour in the middle of the day there, but i thought some of you would have a little advice. Limit your kill, don't kill your limit. -Scotty
