Well yesterday was fun. It started when my boss entered the water waste high. I was informed that my waders had a hole in the crotch. Ops… I wouldn’t have found out cause I don’t sit that far down in the water. Well he made the best of the leaky situation. I gave him a buzz bait to try out as I threw a red Bombers model A. Wasn’t long when my boss yelled out I got one! Cool, this guy hooked into a feisty Two-pound bass. As I kicked over to help him with the removal of his catch I hooked up with a Two-pounder. As we compare fish in seeing who’s is bigger I notice a school of fish busting in the middle of the slough. I advise my boss to cast out and work his bait threw the school. On his second cast he nails a fish and the fight was on. Back and forth they go till finally got a look at it. A 4-5 pound Striper had jumped on his buzz bait. As he tried to unhooked the fish it managed to get off on it’s own and made off. I was throwing everything and anything to get hooked up. Nothing. As we kicked into the marina I did managed to hook two Senko fish near the docks along with a flipping a Reaper fish. My boss said he did a little worm fishing some time ago so I baited him up with a purple Berkeley power worm 6”. Just before I was getting ready to get out my boss yells out “I got one” This guy ends up pulling in and landing a Three pound Catfish… Go figure. Well made for a kind of a weird but fun day. Not the worst day fishing, but sure beats working.

John, Fourteen-mile slough, Village West Marina. Remember when you and I were looking for places to host bnt tourneys? We couldn't find a way into that private lake? But decided to go into and up the driveway that led to the Delta? Decided not to get in due to Boat traffic. Well that is where the Garlic Brothers is located...I took Dave Ryels their to fish.

Thats funny a buddy a work (non-fisherman) asked if I knew or had been to Garlic Brother's and told him I hadnt.I have never even heard of Garlic Brothers until now,and I have now heard of this place twice in the same week.Is this a sign from the fish gods?Is there a double digit fish there waiting for me?I think so?Thanks for the info

A couple of weeks ago I saw a seal (yes a ocean seal) in this Village West marina. That occurred to be weird to me cause this boy is long from home? Stockton/San Francisco He was swimming with approximant 2 pound Catfish in his mouth. And barking at passing boats…

Huh. That's really funny. Imagine snaggin one of them while you're throwin a spinnerbait for bass... You know, some sharks can travel up river quite a ways, until it's almost completely freshwater. Do I hear jaws music? Just when you thought the delta was safe... -Brian
