Thanks to all for a great TOC weekend. This was one of the best TOCs that I've been to. Seems like everyone had a blast. Thanks to John for the amazing spread. Every thing was delicious. Big congrats to Russ for kicking some booty and the big win and Bill on your second place and to all who made it to this years TOC.

Thanks guys! Saturday was one of those days I'll not soon forget. I started the day throwing a t-rigged zipper worm on a drop-off next to one of the more pronounced humps on the lake. Right away I got bit and landed a 1.5. A few minutes later, I got another hit and brought in a 3 lber. 10 minutes later I get a 4. I was starting to get that feeling the day was going to be something special. After sunrise, I thought I'd try the reaction bite. After a 1/2 hour of throwing blades and various crankbaits, I figured I'd better get back on my the spot I and try a jig (see guys, I didn't camp out on that spot all morning). Within another 1/2 hour, I had two more 3 lbers and a 5. I was pretty amped up at that point, but also relaxed knowing that I had a good bag. I sat on the spot for another hour missing one more hit on the jig and then thought I'd give it a rest. I ran over towards the dam and figured I'd try the reaction again. It was pretty obvious from a few of the guys that there was a little crankbait bite going. On my first cast, my rattletrap got crushed and I landed the 7.5. The rest of the day was spent more or less cruising around picking up a few more fish here and there that wouldn't cull. I finished the day with 22.70 and had a good lead.

On day 2, I started up North on Clearlake and had a couple of good bites in the morning that I couldn't connect on. Finally, right after sunrise, I got a rattletrap fish and that was it for the North side. I decided to make a run down to the Glenhaven/Oaks area and make sure I could get a decent limit. Fishing the docks I was able to get a lot of bites on both jigs and c-rigged brush hogs, but nothing big. I managed a 9.9 lb limit and headed for the scales. I felt pretty good once I saw that most of the fish weighed that day were in the 1.5 to 2 lb range. With all the good sticks in this event, any one of them could have brought in a 25 lb sack and taken the lead.

Congrat's Russ, on a great finish to an impressive year for you! If I'm not mistaken, you do fish from an *Outcast* kickboat, correct? :-) Glad to see, that seems to be working out for you!
