Id definitely take a look at the MH Okuma Swimbait rod. Ive thrown the H and XH for a while now and just recently picked up the MH. The rod is perfect for the 7 and 9 inch slammers as well as other small swimbaits like the 7" stocker trout/baby bass, rago rat etc. The rod comes w/ a lifetime warranty and is really underpriced, in my opinion. Id definitely check it out.

Those all sound like decent rods which will perform quite well. I use the Loomis back bouncer that is reviewed on this board for both fresh and salt water swimbaits. It has plenty of power and terrific feedback even though it is a GL2 blank. Let us know what you decide on and how well it all works for you. IMO, GL2 blanks are far better than most people give them credit for. The same is true with IM6 blanks...dressed out properly they make excellent fishing tools.
